And by that I mean, should I start uploading stuff to this page? When I first started this account, it was just a means for me to keep track of my favorite works/artists. But now that I've been on here roughly five years, I can't help but look at that empty spot on my profile and despair.
The thing is, I'm torn on what to submit. My brother's the real artist in the family, and I've always been a little self-conscious when it comes to my drawing because of that. I'm mostly a writer, but I'm not sure I want to submit my writing here, either. I occasionally write fanfiction, and for that I've got a FF.net account, but that's different; on FF.net, no one knows me. Here, I have actual friends that I see that know me and that I'd feel embarrassed to show. I might submit some of my original short stories and poems, though again, nerves about people I know judging me. I know they wouldn't judge harshly, but I sometimes over-think people's responses to things. Plus, I want my page to be more colorful than some grey-colored stores.
Which brings me towards my third option: cosplay pictures. Since graduating college I've been joining my friends at more cons, such as Super-Megafest, Arisia, and this upcoming Anime Boston, plus various costume parties they enjoy throwing. I've been enjoying myself, and while my costumes aren't spectacular, I am proud of them. Plus, my friends have been helping me/making them, so I figure it's a good way to draw attention to their hard work.
So it looks like cosplay photos will likely be the way I'll go, but for anyone reading this, should I also submit stories and poems? What about old essays I'm proud of? It might be a good idea for me to do so just to get over some of my nerves, and for the most part I can take criticism unless it's unnecessarily harsh, but I really do find it difficult to show my friends some of my work. So, any advice?
